Podcast: LeBron James Inks $100 Million Deal

LeBron James WallpaperLeBron James became the highest paid player in the NBA for the first time in his 13-year career Friday afternoon.

Cleveland retained the four-time MVP by signing him to a three-year, $100 million contract extension.

The deal will pay James $31 million next year, the most in the NBA, and $33.3 million in 2017-18, the highest in league history.

James has already earned more than $172 million off his NBA salary since being selected with the first overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft, and his latest contract comes with a player option in the third year, enabling him to ear even more than $100 million.

The 6-foot-8 forward led all performers in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks during the 2016 NBA Finals, as he carried Cleveland to its first title in franchise history.

James uploaded a video to the internet announcing the deal and at the end of his message, he pleaded the Cavaliers front office to sign a deal with another unrestricted free agent from last season’s starting lineup in Cleveland.
