Podcast: Raptors Looking for Post Season Success

Raptors WallpaperToronto posted a franchise record for regular season victories for the third consecutive year and won its third straight Atlantic Division title, but face an uphill battle after just one game.

The Raptors couldn’t find their shooting touch — or a defensive solution for Pacers All-Star Paul George — and were the only team to surrender home court advantage during the opening game of the 2016 post season this weekend.

During the off-season, the team signed DeMarre Carroll to a four-year, $60 million contract to serve as the defensive ace of the team, but he is limited to just 20 minutes a night for Toronto after returning from knee surgery just a week and a half ago.

Late in the game Saturday, the Raptors pulled All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan off George in favor of Carroll.

The switch didn’t come soon enough, as George erupted for 27 of his 33 points in the second half, helping Indiana secure a 100-90 victory.

Toronto has to find a way to counter the defensive pressure from the Pacers and Kyle Lowry has to produce more than the 11 points and six turnovers he had in the series opener.

In our latest podcast, we examine the key games from the opening weekend of the post season, examine the play of Kawhi Leonard — the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season — break down the coaching vacancies in the league and much more.
