Podcast: The Return of the Hornets

A simple name change has already turned around the fortunes in Charlotte.

After 10 consecutive seasons of never moving up in the NBA Draft Lottery, including dropping a spot in 2012 after winning just seven games, the revival of the Hornets moniker has already proved beneficial for the franchise.

The best possible outcome happened for Charlotte in the NBA Draft Lottery and the team is the only squad to qualify for the 2014 post season and possess a top-14 selection in next June’s draft.

We caught up with Spencer Percy staff writer at QueenCityHoops, part of the ESPN True Hoop Network, to talk about possible draft selections, Charlotte morphing into a free agent destination and which young players he thinks can help the team improve next season.

Plus, we break down the sale of the Clippers to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and $2 billion price tag he paid, plus much more.
