Welcome Back

Twitter Takeover

The hardwood is shiny, the balls are a bouncin’, and Kobe Bryant is making more enemies, once again.

That can only mean that the NBA season opener is coming shortly.

October 31, the day in which kids waste tomorrow morning’s omelets, men drive to work angry at the egg stains on their freshly washed Hyundai Sonata mainly because they know somebody wasted a good omelet opportunity, and us basketball fans run with the kids from house to house to try and finish trick-or-treating early so we can catch the season opener.

The NBA season is approaching at an extremely rapid rate.

I know I’m ready for it. I’m ready to have another super-hopeful-yet-another-disappointing-NBA-fantasy-team-who-starts-strong-then-collapses-in-the-final-month…..team.

I’m ready for it all. And with this season being the first full season since the last lockout, I would imagine the players and coaches are prepared as well. Or are they?

In the first installment of the Twitter Takeover for the 2012-13 NBA season, let’s take a look to see if they truly are.

Old Faces In New Places, Kobe Is Still The Most Hated Hater, and Is Anybody Taking This Seriously?

It’s so nice to see teammates get along and work together, striving for one goal.

Oh you’ve got to be kidding me. Come on guys. Well at least they understand how important it is to cater to the newest kids on the team.

Apparently the new old-timer doesn’t get a pass either when it comes to team pranks. Well it’s still at least nice to see a class-act such as Grant Hill still playing in the NBA.

Someone of his character and who has shown the world that injuries don’t have to ruin your career, it’s nice to see him clownin’ with the fellas. Even if he’s the clown. Speaking of clowns…

imageBig Baby was also famous for another video spot you might have seen on ESPN or YouTube some time ago. It involved him crying, like a….. big baby. That still seems too easy. You know what else is still easy? Making fun of the Knicks.

imageEven still they have some of the most loyal fans.

On the subject of loyal, it didn’t seem to take Nike long to find a new spokesperson for their brand.

I guess now Dwyane Wade has more time to focus and getting and remaining healthy and continuing to help the Miami Heat do this…

And there are some players who I am guessing won’t be making a big impact for their teams.

That stings. But not as much as what Kobe had to say about ex-teammate Smush Parker.

It’s not really that crazy to hear Kobe say that. I mean after all, he’s Kobe, then there’s Smush, not even a contest. But you want to know what is crazy?

I’m sorry, I can’t stop making fun of this goober. Maybe you should listen to it before you judge me. However, it is so bad that I’m not even going to post a link on this website. I refuse.

I’ll go as far as typing out the title you can put in the YouTube search bar. “Glen Big Baby Davis Rap Song “Big Baby Gon Turn it Up,” but that’s it! I’m not mad at his creativity.

If that was the case, I’d be making fun of the Lopez brothers too.

Now that’s what I’m talking ’bout!

There is nothing wrong with giving back to the youth. Timberwolves Center Nikola Pekovic gets the idea. Just keep him away from sharp objects please.

Nonetheless we are optimistic about the upcoming NBA season.

Well most of us are at least…

So let us celebrate and get pumped up for this exciting regular season. Just don’t celebrate too much, that’s frowned upon. Take notice:

Beings this is the first post of the new season, and because I’m a slight rebel at times, I’m going to break the rules and pick more than five tweets this week. That’s right, I’m picking six so suck it. In no particular order…

* This tweet makes the list just because they said ‘deposits.’ Big Up To Brooklyn (Nets)!

* Our old friend Myles Brown will be directing the Caucasian version of ‘Roots’ after this tweet.

* M-dot-Brown doesn’t stop there.

* Tom Ziller is ready for the new season. And by the ‘new season’ I mean ‘making fun of Jamal Crawford.’

* Russ Bengtson has been disappointed once already, hopefully we won’t disappoint him again.

* I’m hoping we can cheer up Marcel Mutoni too because he doesn’t seem to be starting the season off on the right foot either.
