Fantasy Basketball Sleeper of the Day

Following its trade of Chris Paul, New Orleans needed so add a player just to fill out its roster.

The Hornets unknowingly signed a player that has provided an immediate impact, as Gustavo Ayon has become the starting power forward.

Signed just a day before the seasons started, Ayon, the third Mexican born player ever to appear in the NBA, has been a catalyst in the Hornets recent success.

New Orleans has won four of its last six games, after opening the season 4-23.

Wednesday against Cleveland, Ayon grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds, six on the offensive end, along with nine points, four assists, two steals and a block in 33 minutes.

An efficient scorer, Ayon leads New Orleans in field goal percentage, connecting on 58.3% of his attempts from the field and is averaging 5.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

Available in over 80% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues, Ayon is a solid option for teams seeking help rebounding the basketball.
